If you're planning a golf vacation to Australia, it's important to be aware of the dress code at golf courses. While many courses have relaxed their dress codes in recent years, it's still essential to adhere to a certain standard of attire to show respect for the game and the other players.





General Dress Code Guidelines

Neat and Casual: Golf gear should be neat and casual.
Collared Shirts: Collared shirts are required for both men and women. Shirts should be tucked in.
Golf Shoes: Golf shoes with soft spikes are required on the course.
Shorts Length: Shorts should be at least knee-length.

Dress Code for Men
Shirts: Collared shirts should be of neat appearance and tucked in.
Pants: Tailored trousers, plus fours, or tailored shorts are acceptable.
Shoes: Golf shoes with soft spikes (no metal spikes) and short socks.

Dress Code for Women
Shirts: Collared shirts should be of neat appearance and tucked in.
Pants: Neat slacks, tailored golf shorts, or skirts are acceptable.
Shoes: Golf shoes with soft spikes (no metal spikes) and short socks.

What is Not Permitted

Denim jeans
Tracksuits
Football or rugby jumpers
Sweatshirts
Trousers tucked into socks
Cargo trousers/shorts
Drawstring trousers/shorts
Clothing bearing writing or advertising material other than small badges or logo
Shoes not designed as golf shoes
Visible tattoos (it is perferred that all visible tattoos be covered at all times on the course and in the clubhouse)

Dress code may vary slightly from course to course, so it’s always a good idea to check with the specific golf course you plan to visit.
